Italian Greyhounds get all the breaks

Could probably have used this site earlier.

Oliver is healing pretty well. He is still supposd to be resting and not jumping. His favorite thing is jumping (and riding his bike). So its tough.

We’ve started going on small short walks. Thsi delights him like nothing else. We only go about a block and back – and he’s just so excited.

A man stopped us yesterday to ask about his leg, since he’s still hobbling. Another pair of women stopped to comment on what a handsome slender dog he is.

I forgot how social dog walking is! Oliver likes all the attention! He is so vain!

so if you were in a cast for 2 months

what would be the first thing you did when you could walk freely again?

pee on a weed outside your house? probably.

take a bath? Definitely.

Now for Oliver’s sake – let’s just say no baths for 2 months had him smell a wee bit, um funky.

the minute we got home – i put him in the sink and scrubbed away. he was a bit baffled. looking up at me weepily and weerily – ‘why? why! i’ve been through so much. i have so many more weeds to pee on outside. why?’

well despite our differences in opinions – he smells sweet like bubbles now.

thank god. i thought this day would not come soon enough!

It’s been a long road.

He wasn’t worried about what the vet was going to say – but determined to get loose to play with the other puppies in the room.

Last week the vet took xrays- and said Oliver still isn’t ready to get his cast off yet.

Maybe two more weeks they said.

I snapped this in the waiting room. Oliver had to take a time out in the cat/small pet section b/c he was determined to make friends with a Golden Retriver.

say what?? huh?

oliver has an ear infection.

i’m trying to write something funny about this. but the fact that he has an ear infection and has to get ear drops in addition to being in a giant blue cone and wearing a blue leg cast really is kinda funny enough.

i wonder if the vet is giggling too. he hee! what other malady can we tell them oliver has? he hee!

oliver, dear oliver, who knew you were such a weak dog?

he protests the idea that he is weak, and insists its just a rough patch.
